We ask that all monetary donations be paid directly to Blessed Sacrament school either in person or by mailing check/money order.
My two boys have spent their formative years at Blessed Sacrament School, forging bonds, growing, and learning within its caring community. My eldest son will be entering his 4th grade and my youngest one will be entering 2nd grade in the next academic year, both overwhelmed with the excitement of seeing their friends again and the teachers that they have come to love. The closure of Blessed Sacrament School this year would impose on them the hardship of transitioning to a new learning environment and forming new friendships, a situation they didn't ask for.
Blessed Sacrament School has been a beacon of education and community spirit for many families like ours. This sudden announcement of closure cuts deep. We believe that an extra year would give everyone enough time to adjust and formulate a successful transition plan for the students affected.
School transitions can be difficult for young children. According to the American Psychological Association, changes in schools can negatively impact a young child's academics and socio-emotional well-being (Reference: American Psychological Association). By allegedly closing the school this year, we are placing unnecessary pressure on our little ones who are already dealing with enough change during these unprecedented times.
We propose a rescheduling of the school closure until the end of the next academic year. This will ensure that the children, parents, and staff of Blessed Sacrament school have adequate time to come to terms with this decision and make the necessary arrangements for a smooth transition.
Please stand by the families of Blessed Sacrament School. Sign our petition today and give our children the gift of one more year in the school they so dearly love. Your support might just make all the difference.
