The CPCSC has decided to start the 2022 - 2023 on August 10, the earliest ever.  This coincides with the Lake County Fair which runs from August 5 -14th.  Please sign this petition if:  

- your child LOVES the Lake County Fair and lives their best life their nearly every day (This is my reason.  So much has been taken from our children the last several years and for my boys the Lake County Fair brings them joy and creates lifelong memories hanging out with friends, laughing, having fun...just being kids!)

- your child participates in 4H and shouldn't be forced into deciding between school and their passion and what they've been working towards all year

- you are concerned about the safety of children walking home from several CPCSC schools while fairgoers and fair workers from other communities increase traffic and the possibility for unfavorable interactions (Lake Street, Solon, Eisenhower, Wheeler, Taft, & CPHS)

- you are concerned about the safety of everyone involved with pick-up at the end of the day for many of the schools around and on the way to the Fair (Lake Street, Solon, Eisenhower, Wheeler, Taft, & CPHS) (this is already a hot mess anyways - adding more traffic will be ridiculous)

- you believe the CPCSC should continue to be a good community partner and not impact the operation of the Lake County Fair by having students at the high school which for many years now has served as the parking lot and shuttle stop for the fair starting at noon each day

- you feel misled by the CPCSC's survey and in no way voted or were interested in this decision 

- you believe August 10 is just too way early

- you're a community member who is impacted by students returning to school so early in August (i.e. your business thrives in warmer weather)

- you just want to support the Lake County Fair, community businesses, and, most importantly, letting our kids be kids and enjoy the Lake County Fair and the warm weather August brings!
