On September 14th 2017 in DeLand, Florida, Officer John Mulero abused and arrested 69 year old veteran Allan Kidd for "refusing to cooperate." He yelled at the man who was trying to speak calmly with him, and when he asked Kidd for his ID and he began to retrieve it, Mulero grabbed him by the arm and swung him around until he was on the ground and could arrest him. This was a gross abuse of his own power as a member of the police force, and yet this man got his job back because Mulero was apparently "just having a bad day."

This should not stand. Officers who abuse their power just because they are "having a bad day" or anything else of the sort should not be welcomed into the police force to begin with, let alone be allowed to keep their jobs after harming an innocent citizen.

The hope is that once this petition gains enough backing, the DeLand Police Department will fire Johan Mulero as they should have done back in 2017, and bring justice to Allan Kidd.
