Dear Evan Hansen's Alana Beck is a dark skinned character

So why is Amandla Stenburg playing her?

Amandla Stenburg is a Person Of Color, but she is incredibly light skinned, by that i mean nearly white passing. However she was casted for the role of Alana Beck in the Dear Evan Hansen movie, and I honestly can not see a reason as to why this decision was made. I'm sure Amandla is a fantastic actress, and a wonderful person. But I am also sure that this is not the role for her. We need a darker skinned Alana Beck.

Alana Beck is an incredible character, and a fantastic role model to darker skinned young ladies.

I do not even need to state it, but I will. More people will watch the Dear Evan Hansen movie that go see the musical or read the book, therefore Stenburg will become the most popular face of Alana Beck. And I don't think that's fair to not only the amazing actresses with darker skin that have played/are playing/will play her, because Alana is a dark skinned character.

You may ask "who should be playing her, then?"

To that I say, Kristolyn Lloyd. She's the original Alana Beck, a great singer, and dark skinned.

We need to get the casting directors of Dear Evan Hansen (The Movie) to hear our voices when we ask for a darker Alana. Let's say it loud. 

We need a darker skinned Alana Beck.
