Since our last update, our coalition has been busy keeping TexasLand USA under the
microscope. Here’s a quick look:
 TCEQ Letter Drive
In just one week, 279 residents signed a formal letter demanding transparency, public hearings,
and accountability. Submitted August 4 by email and delivered August 5 via FedEx, five
identical packages (about 200 pages total) went to TCEQ’s headquarters and district offices,
Senator Lois Kolkhorst, Senator Joan Huffman, and Representative Stan Kitzman. Citizen
concerns are now part of the official record.
 Media & Website Updates
Letters and op-eds appeared in the Waller County Express and Waller Times, with regional
outreach expanding. New website content is rolling out weekly on the Promises vs. Reality page
- a clear signal to potential investors that this project faces organized resistance.
 Events & Mobilization
● July 18–19: Hempstead Watermelon Festival - Stop TexasLand cards distributed at the
Patriots Group booth.
● July 20: Katy Flatland Century Bicycle Ride - signage and outreach to cycling clubs.
● July 24: TexasLand USA Meeting - developers refused a public meeting; instead, five
CDWC reps attended a closed-door session. TexasLand admitted it will take them at
least four months just to figure out a “plan.”
● August 6: CDWC attended the County Assistance District Election Workshop at
Commissioners Court to support placing this on the November ballot. Claiming this
existing 1% sales tax for the county ensures it benefits all residents - not TexasLand
USA. (More to follow in October.)
 Petition Momentum
Meanwhile, this petition continues to grow - now 1,591 signatures strong. Every new name
makes clear that Waller County won’t quietly accept TexasLand USA.
Developers want us to run out of gas - but, we won’t.
We’ve shifted into another gear - steady, deliberate, and ready for the long haul. With a TCEQ
team in place, weekly fact-checks rolling out, and visible opposition, we’ll keep TexasLand USA
under the microscope until citizens get the transparency and accountability they deserve.
The fight is far from over, and your support makes all the difference. Thank you for standing
strong with us.
