Austin PARD did renovate the surface of the ramp, but it appears to be no deeper than it was in the past. This is very frustrating considering they had all the equipment there to deepen it. Removing a foot or two of soil and extending the ramp a few more feet would have made a difference. I try to be positive but this is typical City incompetence.
I am afraid this is what we got. It is better than nothing and is a big improvement over the old ramp surface. It just will not get the job done once the lake level falls as it has every late summer in the past 5-6 years. Unfortunately I see the ramp closing for a period of time almost every year likely just about the time it cools off in early fall.
Thanks to all that signed this petition. I think angler support helped motivate the City to do something. Unfortunately, it falls well short of what the public requested.
