Its already been a year since the ramp at Decker closed due to low water and then the work on the dam.
The bad news is the City was not able to secure a federal boat ramp grant to renovate the present ramp because the "Master Plan" for the park doesn't show a ramp at the present location. The Feds wanted a guarantee the ramp would remain for 50 years and the City couldn't give them that guarantee. This is a big problem as the federal grant would have paid 80% of the cost for a renovation.
The good news is the City says they are working on a plan to renovate the ramp when the water is still down. I haven't seen anything from them yet. Time will tell if they really follow through on anything.
The contact for the ramp renovation is:
Charles Vaclavik
Operations and Maintenance Division Manager

It wouldn't hurt to let him know how important maintaining access to the lake is and that the people that use the lake for fishing want to see something accomplished before the lake level rises and any renovation then becomes more complicated and expensive.
