Declare Tuesday a Regional Holiday: "KC Odea Appreciation Day" and Grant Mandatory Time Of
The Issue
To: iHeartRadio Management & 106.1 Talk FM - Raleigh
The Problem:
For years, the hardworking duo of KC Odea and Ross Hayes have selflessly served the Triangle and Triad regions with unparalleled dedication to broadcast excellence. While Ross Hayes has repeatedly brought to management's attention the numerous holidays that other industries recognize (National Donut Day, Talk Like a Pirate Day, etc.), his reasonable requests for time off have been tragically ignored.
Meanwhile, KC Odea has diligently banked vacation days at a rate that would make a financial planner weep with pride. Sources close to the program estimate he currently has approximately 847 vacation days accrued (pending verification from HR).
The Solution:
We, the undersigned listeners of 106.1 Talk FM, hereby petition iHeartRadio to:
1. Officially recognize Tuesday as "KC Odea Appreciation Day" - a regional holiday for the Triangle and Triad areas
2. Grant KC Odea and Ross Hayes the day off (with pay, naturally - we wouldn't want KC's vacation bank to be touched)
3. Ensure KC is NOT wished Happy Birthday during this observance, as we respect his humble nature and aversion to such attention (this petition notwithstanding)
The Win-Win Scenario (EVERYONE Benefits):
This is perhaps the most universally supported initiative in Triangle/Triad history:
IF YOU LOVE THE SHOW:
• You recognize these hardworking gentlemen deserve a well-earned break
• You appreciate their dedication and want them refreshed for future broadcasts
• You support KC's strategic vacation banking philosophy
• You validate Ross's years of fictitious holiday advocacy
IF YOU HATE THE SHOW:
• It's one less day of having them on the air
• You get a 24-hour reprieve
• Guest hosts might be refreshing
• Still counts as a win
See? EVERYBODY wins. When was the last time you saw an issue that unified ALL listeners regardless of opinion? This is the kind of bipartisan solution our divided nation needs.
Why This Matters:
For the Community:
• The Triangle and Triad regions currently lack a mid-week observational holiday
• Economic boost from listeners taking the day off to reflect on quality broadcasting
• Sets precedent for Ross's future fictitious holiday proposals
• Universal listener satisfaction regardless of show preference
For KC Odea:
• Demonstrates that his vacation day banking strategy was NOT in vain
• Honors his humility by making a big deal about NOT making a big deal about his birthday
• Finally proves to his mother that people DO appreciate him
For Ross Hayes:
• Validates YEARS of holiday suggestions
• Creates template for "National Ross Hayes Day" (TBD)
• Partnership solidarity
For iHeartRadio:
• Positive PR showing support for hardworking talent
• Reduces liability of KC's vacation day accrual (compound interest is real)
• Sets industry standard for birthday-related labor relations
• 100% approval rating from listeners (both fans AND critics)

The Ask:
All we're asking is for ONE DAY - a Tuesday - for two men who have given us countless hours of entertainment, information, and vacation day accounting updates.
Is that really too much?
KC would never ask for this himself (which is exactly why WE must).
In Conclusion:
While KC Odea may hate being wished Happy Birthday, surely he cannot object to a completely unrelated regional holiday that just happens to fall on the same day as his birth.
And if Ross has taught us anything, it's that if you suggest a holiday enough times, eventually it becomes real.
Sign this petition. Do it for KC. Do it for Ross. Do it for all those banked vacation days.
Or do it because you can't stand them and want one day of peace.
Either way, DO IT.

Deadline: Before Tuesday (obviously)
