This is a deep issue as I and many other Mindanaoans have been negatively affected by the false statements released over CNN by Mr. Richard Foronda Heydarian. He disrespected our beloved South Mindanao by globally comparing it to Sub-Saharan Africa in terms of Human Development Index. Not only is this comparison baseless, it brings unnecessary hatred and shame upon our land and people. According to the United Nations Development Program, South Mindanao has a Human Development Index that is far better than numerous areas in Sub-Saharan Africa. His continued misrepresentation is creating an unfavourable image among the global audience and diluting our efforts in uplifting our home region. Therefore, we seek to declare Mr. Heydarian as Persona Non Grata in South Mindanao, meaning he is no longer welcome here. We believe this measure is necessary due to the false narratives he perpetuates about our beloved land. In doing so, we hope to ensure our region is represented truthfully and respectfully, both locally and internationally. Please join us in demanding this action of our lawmakers.
