Every generation of young Americans helps shape the future of our communities, our country, and our democracy. From students and volunteers to young entrepreneurs, artists, inventors, athletes, creators, and emerging leaders, young people contribute fresh ideas, creativity, compassion, and civic spirit that strengthen America every day.

 

We are calling on lawmakers, community leaders, educators, organizations, and citizens to support the official recognition of July 5 as National Young Americans Day — a civic-themed observance dedicated to honoring and celebrating the voices, talents, creativity, achievements, and contributions of young people across the United States.

 

In today’s ever-changing world, young Americans are helping lead innovation, community service, entrepreneurship, public awareness, technology, the arts, athletics, education, and social change. They are not only the future — they are active leaders, problem-solvers, and change-makers today.

 

National Young Americans Day would give families, schools, youth organizations, community groups, businesses, and elected officials an opportunity to:

• Celebrate the talents, creativity, and innovation of young people
• Listen to the voices, ideas, and concerns of America’s youth
• Encourage civic engagement, leadership, and community service
• Recognize the important contributions young people make to their families, schools, neighborhoods, and communities
• Inspire future generations to pursue their goals, dreams, and passions
• Promote unity, patriotism, responsibility, and positive youth development

By establishing July 5 as National Young Americans Day, we can create a positive annual tradition that uplifts young people, encourages civic pride, and reminds the nation that youth deserve to be seen, heard, respected, and supported.

 

Young people are growing up in a complex world filled with challenges and opportunities. They need encouragement, guidance, recognition, and platforms where their voices matter. This day would help communities across America pause, celebrate their achievements and invest in their potential.
