I've seen first hand the terror struck into my friends in the Rainbow community by Destiny Church and their squad, Man Up. Their gang-like intimidation tactics have no place in our society, and I believe it's high time we put an effective end to it.

Destiny Church has been exerting undue influence on individuals and has even pushed some to act in ways that negatively affect those around them. Their patches, akin to those of criminal gangs, further spread fear among local communities, stimulating a climate of intimidation.

We don't want New Zealand to be a country where any organization, disguise their intimidation tactics under the veil of religion. The Human Rights Commission too shares this view, stating that religious freedom "does not protect harmful or criminal conduct disguised as religious practice" (source: Human Rights Commission).

We call on our government to reassess Destiny Church's status and declare it a cult, not a religion. Moreover, their 'gang' patches should also be prohibited nationwide to ensure all our citizens feel safe and secure in their country. It's time we took decisive actions for the safety of our communities.
