Declare a snow day for Dana Hall School tomorrow

The Issue

As the snowstorm intensifies, I find myself deeply concerned about the safety of commuting to Dana Hall School tomorrow. My parents have to head to work in the midst of this harsh weather, leaving me to navigate icy roads alone. It's not just about the inconvenience—it's about safety. The roads are treacherous, and with the current snow accumulation, it’s simply not safe for students to travel to school.

The weather forecasts have warned us of continuous snowfall and dropping temperatures, which will only worsen road conditions overnight. Black ice and snow-covered roads create a perilous environment for both student drivers and commuting school staff. Schools in our area have previously declared snow days in similar circumstances to ensure the safety and well-being of their students and staff.

Massachusetts law requires that schools prioritize safety, and a snow day declaration under these conditions would reflect that priority. Dana Hall School has an opportunity to stand with its students by acknowledging these legitimate safety concerns and suspending classes for the day.

Let’s protect our school community by minimizing the risks that such driving conditions pose. Signing this petition will help Dana Hall School make an informed decision to prioritize safety and prevent unnecessary accidents or injuries. Please join me in advocating for a safer tomorrow.
