Declaration of Interdependence

Declaration of Interdependence
The Issue
In defense of democracy, dignity, and our shared future
When in the course of human events, the bonds between people, nations, and ecosystems are torn by the ambitions of the few, it becomes the duty of the many to rise—not in violence, but in vision; not in division, but in solidarity.
We, the undersigned—citizens of many nations, faiths, professions, and communities—declare that the era of domination, isolation, and fear must end. We affirm that our strength lies not in walls and tariffs, but in bridges, relationships, and trust.
We Hold These Truths to Be Self-Evident:
- That all people are born equal in dignity and worth, and no law or policy shall prioritize profit or power over the common good.
- That the economy is a tool to serve life—not the other way around—and its workings must be just, ecological, and inclusive.
- That no leader shall declare false emergencies to justify the erosion of democracy or the enrichment of oligarchs.
- That power shall be accountable to people, and representation must be real—not a mask for corporate or executive dominance.
- That no corporation shall act as sovereign over our speech, our labor, or our shared future.
Therefore, We Stand Together to:
- Reject economic nationalism that weaponizes trade, punishes the vulnerable, and isolates communities under the guise of strength.
- Resist authoritarian overreach, whether from governments or tech empires, that undermines democracy and centralizes unchecked power.
- Support fair, democratic trade that respects labor, the environment, and the sovereignty of all peoples.
- Build local resilience through mutual aid, ethical entrepreneurship, and shared ownership of the commons.
- Celebrate interdependence, knowing that our freedoms are bound up with each other—none of us free until all of us are.
We do not call for revolution by arms, but for evolution in values—a turning back toward our neighbors, and outward toward the planet we share.
Let this be our Boston Harbor—not a dumping ground for rebellion, but a launching ground for solidarity. Let our resistance be cooperative, not chaotic; creative, not destructive; unrelenting, but always rooted in love.
We pledge to one another our voices, our efforts, and our hope.
Signed this day, by those who refuse to stand by while democracy is dismantled and the future sold.
