Hello friends! I wanted to update you on some exciting news and also ask for your help with two very important projects. First, there is my son Darius Adams’ petition urging the NCAA to ban violent athletes. Just over one week ago NCAA President Mark Emmert reached out to me and requested a meeting. I happily accepted and I just confirmed my flight to Chicago for July 21st!! Please continue to share our petition and ask everyone to sign. I would love to meet the 150,000 mark before the Chicago meeting. Wish me luck!! Second, I was just made Organizing Director for the non-profit organization RISE! This grass roots organization is the creator of a Sexual Assault Survivor Bill of Rights that is moving through Congress. You may have seen their petition already at Change.org/Rise This very important bill has already moved through the Senate with unanimous support and just passed through the House Judiciary Committee last week with unanimous support! Now we need your help to get the bill onto the House floor for a vote. Please contact Speaker Paul Ryan’s office and tell him how important it is to bring this bill up for a House vote! Phone: 1-888-909-7926 or 202-225-3031 Email: http://www.speaker.gov/contact Facebook: @speakerryan Instagram: @speakerryan Twitter handle: @SpeakerRyan You can even fax him at 202-225-2012 Together we can pass legislation to ban violent athletes from the NCAA and protect sexual assault survivors with common sense rights! Thank you for your continued support! I look forward to celebrating our wins with you!! Brenda Tracy
