Lunar eclipses are beautiful, and inspire hundreds of thousands of people to take the time to stop and enjoy the moon, even if very briefly. With RGB lighting, rather than waiting for eclipses that take large amounts of time to occur, some destined to occur not even in our lifetimes- we can get a jump start on manipulating the moon, and even one-up the universe.

Why We Should Do This
It would be a massive technological achievement to add RGB lighting to the moon, as it would allow us to time not only when the moon changes color, but also use unique colors one would never expect to be cast from the moon. It would be a triumph for STEM fields everywhere, and open up unique fields of science for others to study.

Another notable product of this endeavor- with minor adjustments, we could potentially find a way to make the environment safer and healthier by fine tuning the light, and save millions a year by reducing other artificial lighting here on Earth.
