The Computer Science (CS) department is currently within the College of Natural Sciences (CNS) and it is not getting the proper amount of funding that it deserves. I believe that the CS department deserves increased funding when the money is distributed among the departments within CNS. With more funding, the department could improve its labs and general facilities, attract higher profile professors, and attract more grad students to UT to conduct novel research in exciting fields within CS such as Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Big Data, and Robotics.
