SUBJECT: NITJ SHOULD EVEN START OFFLINE MODE FOR 1ST  YEAR BTECH STUDENTS!!

Myself, being a first year Student at the prestigious college of NIT Jalandhar, Punjab was shocked and astonished to know that for 1st year students(unlike other year batches), colleges are predicted to get into the physical mode during the 3rd Semester(Aug-2022). It was hard for me to believe the same but had no other option.

Today I am here to list out a few basic points which I think would be necessary to know:-
 i- The COVID Situation in Indian subcontinent is under control and we are doing way better compared to its  preliminary waves(which occurred during Mar 2020 and April 2021) 

 ii- There are vaccines available not only for the 18+ people but recently the government announced the same for the age range of 13- 18 years of age. This means all the students and the staff members of the college will be vaccinated and will have a bare minimum chance of being infected.

 iii- Even after The Ministry of Education has clearly stated that all colleges should run in offline mode only, our authorized dignitaries are taking least interest in that matter.

 iv- Punjab Government itself released an order which stated that all the institutes are allowed to run physically in offline mode.

 v- It would be fine if they would have extended our physical classes by a week or two. But 6 months(1 full semester) is quite a long time and I hope you will recheck your decisions and will provide us with the right one.

 vi- Even all the COVID experts and doctors are of the same opinion that we are already done with the difficult era of the pandemic and will have to live with it. Developed nations like the UK and Canada have already categorized COVID-19 as a flu(not a pandemic anymore).

vii-If the same college, same hostel can be opened for our senoirs why are we being deprived of that facility? 
 viii- Last but not the least, if it's not possible at your stage to reopen all the classes physically in offline mode, I would request you to atleast run the college in hybrid mode( based on students consent) as it is very difficult, tedious & tiresome for some students who are actually fidgeting their minds with these electronic gadgets daily.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU SPEND A LITTLE OF YOUR VALUABLE TIME TO SIGN THIS PETETION SO THAT IT WILL HELP MANY STUDENTS LIKE US!!
