My sister is an 11 year old type 1 diabetic. She was recently placed in intensive care due to her father withholding insulin. She was in severe dka when admitted. The drs at the hospital stated in their report that it was dangerous for her to go to dads house. Her endocrinologist stated that dad needs more education and when she attempted to educate him he was on his phone instead. The hospital kept her extra days for a safety hold to avoid sending her to dads house. Even with all this evidence and proof, DCF is doing nothing to protect my sister! (I guess they know better than the Dr) They are not taking her diabetes seriously and I am afraid for my sisters' life. I hope to get them to start expressing concern for my sisters' health and safety and hoping to educate them how serious type 1 is! Please help bring attention by writing in support of my sister, and sharing for others to see. Please, help remove her and the other children from the care of this man and his wife.
