During King Charles' visit to France, he banned foie gras from all his residences! While it is customary for royals to dine on foie gras while in France, and his mother, Queen Elizabeth II apparently loved the cruel delicacy, King Charles has decided not to follow in her footsteps, and has chosen compassion for ducks and geese.
Foie gras is a brutal practice where ducks and geese are force fed multiple times a day through a tube shoved down their throats. This happens over and over and over until they develop fatty liver disease. The diseased liver is then removed and served as this 'delicacy'.
We are glad that King Charles has decided to break with this heartbreaking 'tradition' and stand up for animals! Read more about it here.
Want to do more for animals? If you are able, please support FARM or even volunteer! We are so grateful for your involvement at any level.
