According to ScreenRant, WB can’t fire Amber Heard or even ask her to break her contract due to the legal issues involved in her dispute with Depp. In the United States, the plaintiff has to prove malicious intent by the reporter, as well as avoidance of the truth, in order to succeed in a defamation of character suit. However, in the UK system, the journalist in question has to prove to a court that they weren’t acting in bad faith and to justify the accuracy of their reporting.

So The Sun got away with it because all they had to do was say that they believed Amber Heard’s claims in good faith, not that she was telling the truth. And they’ve only gotten away with it until Johnny’s appeal goes through. When that happens, it’s going to be a whole different story.

When Johnny prevails in his upcoming defamation suit against ex-wife Amber Heard, it’ll be much harder for her to secure work, though word through the grapevine has it that she’s already unemployable already because she’s unbondable. So claims of her being case as the invisible girl, or appearing in a movie with Nicolas Cage (a LONG time Johnny Depp friend) are more than likely just that: claims. Unfounded in reality, to coin her phrase.

But then there’s her contract with WB regarding Aquaman 2. Perhaps it is true that she can’t be fired due to these legal proceedings. But that doesn’t mean she can’t be fired for other reasons. For example, most contracts these days have some sort of morals clause.

And that doesn’t mean that her contract can’t be bought out by WB. That’s a whole different circumstance. And reliable rumor has it that’s exactly what happened. So when you hear claims in the press that Heard’s position with WB is unshakable, or that she’s got ALL these roles coming up, take it with a pinch of salt. Just remember those claims that she was going to be in a live-action Hercules movie? Right. She and her PR team can cook up whatever claims they want. Doesn’t make them true.

And remember, when it comes to how things are worded in the press, just remember there’s more than one way to get things done. Take a look at the wording, then take a look around it. Just because she can’t be fired for one reason, it doesn’t mean she can’t be fired for another. And it certainly doesn’t mean that she’s going to be hired for anything new.

Time will tell.

What do you think? Would Amber Heard make a good invisible girl?
