Day three saw more of the same badgering from the Sun’s counsel, who I’ll refer to as QC. Today, she addressed two incidents of what she called violence against Amber Heard at the hands of Johnny Depp.
First, QC talked about what happened in Australia when Johnny lost the tip of his finger. QC badgered Johnny with Amber’s ever-changing version of events. Now, Amber’s saying that she slept through the night and morning when Johnny chopped off his own finger and trashed the house – though she did make a statement in documents that she’s the one that broke the TV, belying her story that she woke up in the morning to find all this horror.
Johnny held his own, though, giving answers that were at times humorous and I daresay sassy. It was refreshing to see that he adamantly refuses to let Amber’s team get away with her fictional version of events.
It was rather horrifying, though, to see Johnny describe how the bone was sticking out of his devastated finger, and being so ruined himself that he did indeed write on the walls and mirrors in his own blood.
The judge and Johnny’s counsel were heard from a lot more today, objecting when QC stepped out of line, giving Johnny more of a chance to answer questions without being interrupted. Not that there were many questions. It was more like QC giving testimony and interrupting Johnny when he tried to answer to the fictional charges she was laying out.
QC also described the incident in the penthouse where Amber Heard said she hit Johnny for the first (and only?) time, in defense of her sister Whitney. Amber insists that Johnny was pushing Whitney around to try to get at Amber to abuse her. Johnny patently denied that version of events the same way he denies her version of all of these events.
As court wrapped up, it became known that Johnny’s lawyer will have an hour to redirect – to question Johnny again about certain points that QC addressed during her cross examination. I think that’s good. After being raked over the coals for three days, Johnny will get a chance to set the record straight.
On another amusing note, it seems that our little petition has been mentioned in court documents. See the picture. It seems that Amber Heard is bugged by our efforts. And to that, I say: GOOD. She needs to know that actions have consequences, and it’s not always consequences you can control. She seems to be the type that likes to be in control, but she can’t control the petition, and she will never control me.
That’s about it for today. I’ll update as fast as I find out.
