Stop Banning Pups from DC Patios!
This petition made change with 206 supporters!
The DC Department of Health has recently been sending letters to restaurants reminding them that health codes ban dogs, even in outdoor seating areas.
WE (DC Residents) say: Let the Business Owners Choose whether or not to allow Dogs on their patios!
-Research shows that healthy, vaccinated dogs on outdoor patios do NOT pose health or sanitary concerns!
-Local shelters and rescues rely on pups on the patio events for adoptions and fundraising in order to keep saving homeless dogs. Prohibiting these events has a negative impact on all of the work these organizations do to save homeless animals.
-Dogs on patios drives consumerism and gives business owners access to a unique customer base. Many DC residents choose where they frequent solely based on whether or not they can bring their best furry friend with them.
-PLUS - Imagine your favorite watering holes without those friendly puppy faces!
GIVE BUSINESS OWNERS THE CHOICE: STOP THE BAN OF PUPS ON PATIOS!
