I read a couple of comments of someone ignorant of proper forest management and saying that all I do is go around and take pictures and have no idea of what I am talking about regarding the intelligent management of the Spruce Bud Worm (SBW). However, to be fair I am not even sure if he knows what the SBW is or how it acts in nature. Yes of course I do take pictures of the forest that is marked for cutting and progressive photos of the forest over the months to show that the so called SBW infestation (if any) is not as extreme as the MDNR has made it out to be. I use these photos along with the cut specs and DNR mandated CLEAR CUTS so they can squeeze every penny out of the forest's board ft yield rather than use a scientific form of management to harvest the infected and or dying trees and put the value in leaving behind a healthy forest would make more sense to me. The photo in this update is yet another well managed CLEAR CUT handled by the MDNR. If this does not stop Michigan Forests will be devastated beyond return within our generation or for that matter our grandchildrens generation. I am working each day to find a way to stop this CLEAR CUT and if I can Stop this one that means there is a way to more and perhaps but an end to CLEAR CUTTING. I am in contact with several environmental groups and currently speaking with a couple law firms and will make a decision soon on a working strategy to stop this.
