What gives a person the right to shoot a defenceless animal?????

In the hands of a untrained person, air pellet guns/rifles are a deadly item, causing untold suffering to wildlife, people's pets and even children.

I have seen numerous animals injured by these things, often leaving them with serious and even fatal injuries. In recent weeks 5 cats in the Walsall area have been shot, 2 of them had to be euthaninased due to the severity of their injuries. 

It's time that something was done about the sale/use of these horrid things. In this day and age do we really need them??? There are far more humane ways to control pests, without shooting them. People have the right to have pets without the fear of having them injured.

I would like to see the sale and use of these out dated and barbaric items stopped once and for all and for any owners of such items to surrender them for safe disposal.
