Baby the Bulldog came into our lives in the past few days but not for the right reason. She was viciously beaten and as a result of her injuries she had to be put to sleep. She couldn't cry out for help and she couldn't escape the despicable torture that she endured.At the moment the maximum sentence for animal cruelty is 51 weeks in prison and/or a £20,000 fine. The existing sentence is nothing more than an insult to abused animals.An animal becomes a pet, becomes a friend, becomes a member of the family. Whether it be a dog, cat, horse, rabbit or any other animal, they should not be subjected any to abuse. They should not be beaten. They should not be hurt in anyway shape or form but unfortunately this isn't always the case. Thousands of animals in the U.K. are abused every year. At the moment the maximum sentence is no deterrent. It's is no justice.I am calling for everybody to sign the petition to get law passed that if anybody does abuse ANY animal they will be punished up to 5 years in prison.In memory of Baby and every animal that has been ill treated, please sign. Be the voice for those cannot speak. Be strong for those that are weak.I thank you all.
