Hold Officer Flowers Accountable

Hold Officer Flowers Accountable
The Issue
Wednesday, October 27, an incident occurred at Hartsville High School in which Officer Flowers incited an unnecessary physical altercation with a student. A video recording the incident has been viewed more than 13,000 times as of October 28. Within this video, Flowers is seen using aggressive physical force on the student, going as far as to pull out an apparatus which appears to be some sort of taser or baton.
This appears to be an issue which administration wants to sweep under the rug. One principal even told the recorder of the video that they “better stop recording”; but we, the students of Hartsville High School and the citizens of the surrounding community will not forget this incident or the numerous previous reported accounts of racism, bigotry, and abuse of power from Resource Officer Flowers.
It is with this petition that we demand accountability for the actions of HHS’s resource officer and that he either be fired or resign immediately.
