SAVE THE MAIDENDALE FARM WILDFLOWER MEADOWS FROM DESTRUCTION BY DARLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

This petition had 320 supporters

This is an established wildflower meadow containing SSSI species. Darlington Borough Council plan to destroy these meadows in the next 2 years by building a road and speculative industrial units. We need 1000 signatures to get the issue discussed at cabinet. Help us save the wild flower meadows for future generations. This land is a green field site, not  brown field. It is a fantastic recreational resource with over 3 miles of footpaths with beautiful views of the North Yorkshire Moors and Pennines in the distance. It is a haven for wildlife, deer, foxes, rabbits, a myriad of wild flowers,  butterflies and the protected Great Crested Newts. You can help us make a difference by supporting this petition.  Saving this land and its wildflower meadows meets every objective in the council's own Environmental Strategy & Action Plan 2013-2026.  These Fields of Gold have significantly more value to the future health and wellbeing of local people as a nature reserve.  Sign up now.
