This is an established wildflower meadow containing SSSI species.
Darlington Borough Council plan to destroy these meadows in the next 2 years by building a road and speculative industrial units.
We need 1000 signatures to get the issue discussed at cabinet.
Help us save the wild flower meadows for future generations. This land is a green field site, not brown field.
It is a fantastic recreational resource with over 3 miles of footpaths with beautiful views of the North Yorkshire Moors and Pennines in the distance. It is a haven for wildlife, deer, foxes, rabbits, a myriad of wild flowers, butterflies and the protected Great Crested Newts. You can help us make a difference by supporting this petition. Saving this land and its wildflower meadows meets every objective in the council's own Environmental Strategy & Action Plan 2013-2026. These Fields of Gold have significantly more value to the future health and wellbeing of local people as a nature reserve. Sign up now. Thank you. Friends of Maidendale
