Second-hand tobacco smoke exposure is dangerous for children and young people because they have smaller airways and less developed immune systems compared to adults.  A ban on smoking and tobacco at Danville Little League events and facilities will encourage adults to be good role models for children at ball games and will protect young lungs from the toxic and carcinogenic chemicals in secondhand smoke.

From Little League Baseball, Inc. rules:

Article XIV Field Decorum

(e) the use of tobacco and alcoholic beverages in any form is prohibited on the playing field, benches or, dugouts. Alcohol is prohibited at the game site.

In addition to this Little League Baseball, Inc. policy we propose the following language be added to Danville Little League rules:

"The possession, consumption, use or sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, tobacco products or e-cigarettes is strictly prohibited at all Danville Little League ball fields (Washies Complex and Echo Fields), parking lots, bleachers and all related grounds."
