Let's make the Greatest fight of our time happen Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou
The Issue
Let's send the message to the UFC, Dana White, and UFC shareholders that
We the people want to see the fight between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou happen!
The greatest entertainers of our time are willing to risk their lives for the entertainment. Is it unreasonable that they will get a bigger share of the money pie?
After Francis Ngannou knocked out Stipe Miocic in a violent fashion, they said Jon Jones would be dodging a fight with him. Now that Jon Jones made it clear to everyone that it is all about the money, we may be able to witness one of the greatest entertainment events of our time.
For perspective:
Let's look at top UFC pay per view events in the recent history:
UFC 229: Khabib vs McGregor – 2.4 million. 2,400,000 x $69.99 = $167,760,000
UFC 257: Poirier vs McGregor II – 1.6 million. 1,600,000 x $69.99 = $111,984,000
UFC 202: Diaz vs McGregor II – 1.6 million. 1,600,000 x $69.99 = $111,984,000
How about some other great fights:
Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor - 6.7 million. 6,700,000 x $69.99 = $468,933,00 (reportedly the proceeds from this fight far exceeded 700 million)
Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao - 4.4 million. 4,400,000 x $69.99 = $307,956,000 (reportedly the proceeds from this fight far exceeded 400 million)
Yes, these numbers is just the revenue from the pay per view and they do not include all the costs associated with putting this even together. However, keep in mind that these numbers don't include revenue streams from advertising opportunities, actual ticket venue sales, merchandise sales and much much more.
So is what Jon Jones asking really that much?
"I had a brief phone meeting with UFC's lawyer Hunter a few days ago. As of right now I expressed to him that anywhere around eight to $10 million would be way too low for a fight of this magnitude. That's all that has been discussed so far." @Jonnybones
UFC can easily make this deal happened. It would not be inappropriate to pay $20-$50 million per fighter for the event of this magnitude that could bring more than $500 million for just pay per view sales. $100 million is only 20% of 500 million. We also believe we are underestimating these numbers. Let's show them that people really want to see this fight.
Thank you for the support and let's make this fight happen. Spread the word.
