Dawn and Terry have been through probably the most horrific few years anyone could imagine. It all started with one evening wanting to have a simple night out with the girls but their drive to the event wasn't so simple, she was in a car accident caused by a drunk driver. That night was the night her many dreams were taken from her, to start.. her just begun career of a corrections officer for the youth was immediately ended, chance of ever wanting to carry a baby to full-term, (due to how much medications Dawn needs just to feel some what comfortable in a day) even the chances of being able to just play golf with her 3 wonderful step sons and husband. This was all taken from Dawn because she broke her neck in the car accident (c4 c5 & c6 to be exact) and left not being able to get out of bed in the morning or even dress her self. The doctors had told her when it happened that she pretty much won't move again. But fortunately dawn is the strongest person I've ever met and has had the help and support from her amazing husband Terry & close family and friends, we cannot forget project walk. Dawn has gone through countless hours of muscle therapy and work outs with trainers, and has actually made her able to now move her arms and head and the progress is just going to keep getting better. But the reason I am coming to you guys for help is because this amazing woman just wants to experience the feeling of being a mom. Just like any woman she should be entitled to the right and that was taken away the night this happened. The only option her and her husband have at being able to have a child of their own (genetically) is having a surrogate mother. There are many expensive costs, for lawyers fees, agency fees, reimbursement of money for all expenses and possible medical bills. Dawn and Terry Moffatt have gone to MPI for help to cover these costs and they have been so unfairly turned down and I'm asking for your help to fight this, they don't deserve to have their lives permanently on hold due to someone else's stupidity.
