Hazard pay for ComForcare Senior Services caregivers in Allegheny County!
Hazard pay for ComForcare Senior Services caregivers in Allegheny County!
The Issue
ComForcare Senior Services provides life sustaining home health services to Allegheny county's most vulnerable population. It is a leader in non-medical home care with over 400 employees working around the clock supporting independence of so many of our local seniors and those living with disabilities. ComForcare was recently told that they would not receive the hazard pay benefit for their employees because the program does not have any more funding. Our caregivers relied on the program and have been working tirelessly throughout the global pandemic. We feel that they are entitled to this benefit and relief as front line workers. Community based Caregivers are often overlooked, unlike large hospital based employees, who have the funds to support those caring for patients in the hospital. Let's stand together to have their voices heard!!! Please help us support our very own community champions!!!
