Lyndo Jones was shot twice with his hands up by Derek Wiley who thought he was breaking into his own pickup truck because someone reported the alarm going off before the encounter. Here is what we know:
1. He was shot twice in the back.
2. He complied and stepped out of his own car and he was completely unarmed. His shirt was off and there was a huge light beam shining on him so there was no chance the officer thought he had a weapon.
3. He did not attack an officer. No one is claiming he did. For a brief period he was charged with evading but the DA even threw out that false charge after seeing the body cam video.
4. This is an election year. Your voice is louder than ever in a contentious DA race. The DA can issue an arrest warrant if she chose to based on probable cause that a crime was committed. So here is the fundamental question; Is it a crime to shoot an unarmed non threatening black male? If so, why hasn’t a warrant been issued?
