End religious persecution of faithful Buddhists

End religious persecution of faithful Buddhists
The Issue
Tibetan followers of a traditional Buddhist Deity are being persecuted for their religious beliefs. Incited by government officials politically opposed to the practice of the Protector Dorje Shugden, anti-Shugden zealots have expelled Shugden followers from Tibetan society, forced families from their homes, beaten up elderly monks, expelled monks from their monasteries, destroyed shrines and denied medical care to Shugden Buddhists. This religious persecution is destroying the harmony of the Buddhist community and terrorizing hundreds of thousands of Shugden Buddhists.
The Dalai Lama is the one person with the power to stop these fanatics and restore tolerance and harmony to the Buddhist community. The Tibetan government in exile (now called the CTA) will do whatever he asks of them. We call on him:
1) To allow anyone who wishes to practice Dorje Shugden the freedom to do so;
2) To stop completely the discrimination against Shugden practitioners;
3) To allow all Shugden monks and nuns who have been expelled to return to their monasteries and nunneries, and to receive the same material and spiritual rights as non-Shugden practitioners;
4) To write to Tibetan communities throughout the world telling them that they should apply practically the above three points.
