Over the last three years we have seen a dramatic increase in the number of restaurants and beach bars renting sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach  for prices exceeding the maximum stated by the law. 

Specific examples are seen in Limassol at Lady's Mile Beach, where one beach bar charges up to 40 EUR for a double sunbed (that is 16 times the legal maximum) while they force an extra charge of 7.50 EUR to standard single sunbeds. This has been happening for 3 years now, as the owner confessed.
A new beach bar next door, charges up to 25 EUR per sunbed pair.
Similar examples are found in Yeroskipou, Paphos and in may other locations all around Cyprus.

The law clearly states that the maximum price for an umbrella or a sunbed is 2.50EUR.

I therefore ask that the local municipalities protect their citizens by fining the lawbreaking owners and making sure the laws are enforced!
