Tamir E. Rice was born June 25, 2002. For a mother that day means so much, you finally get to meet that child you carried in your stomach for nine months. All the morning sickness, doctor appointment, ultrasounds, being picked and probed just to make sure that your child is healthy when he or she enters into this world. Tamir's mother did everything right to make sure she had a full-term, healthy baby boy. It took nine months for her to create that life. And in two seconds, a Cleveland Police officer took that little boy from his mother and from his family. A life cherished for 12 years taken in a blink of an eye. August 23, 2015 will mark the nine-month anniversary of the death of Tamir. For nine months, we have been waiting for the wheels of justice to begin to turn for Tamir -- just as long as it took to create his young life. How long will we have to wait? Numerous times she has called on the community to stand with her family by calling for these officers to be arrested and charged with the murder of her son. We know it's possible in Cleveland, because it happened in Cincinnati with the officer who shot and killed Sam DuBose. Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty has dragged his feet long enough on this case. We want answers now! Join us this Sunday, August 23, 2015, as we remember Tamir. We call on the community of Cleveland, the mothers of Cleveland and the youth of Cleveland to remember a little boy named Tamir Rice whose death sparked a movement in our city.
