The Issue

We are asking the Government of British Columbia to do two things:

1. Roll back the PST expansion on professional services before it takes effect on October 1, 2026.

2. Reduce the general PST rate from 7% to 5% to give BC businesses and families real relief during these uncertain times.

Business groups across BC are already fighting the PST expansion, and even the government's own budget consultation committee has recommended repealing it. That pressure is working. But cancelling a bad tax just gets us back to zero. This petition asks for more.

As a small business owner in BC, I'm deeply concerned about where things are headed. Families and businesses are already stretched thin by inflation, the cost of living, property taxes, US tariffs, and economic uncertainty.

Here's what cutting PST from 7% to 5% would mean.  A two-point cut could leave roughly $3 billion a year in the pockets of BC families and businesses, an average of about $1,300 per household.

That's hundreds of dollars on a $30,000 vehicle or a home renovation and real savings on almost everything you buy. Money that gets spent right back into local businesses instead of disappearing into a provincial deficit.

Lower taxes mean more money moving through local businesses, more jobs, and a stronger BC.
