Bicester village stores - need to stop forced sales
Bicester village stores - pushing add on sales to customer and it needs to stop.
I went into bicester village recently, and I was shocked to hear about some policies the stores had.
BURBERRY - if I buy up to 10 items I HAVE TO BUY an accessories which the store chooses for me, they choose the item / colour and size and I have to buy what they ask me to buy otherwise I can’t buy what I want. If I buy 1 wallet £89 they will ask me to buy a jumper £129 of their choosing and if I say no they won’t sell me the wallet.
MONCLER - for ever 1 item I buy they FORCE me to buy accessories, or they won’t sell the item I want.
GUCCI - I can only buy 2 items if I want more I HAVE TO BUY a collection piece which are very expensive. ( appalling service - the staff are very rude and need customer service training )
RITUALS - minimum 2 pieces per transaction
SAINT LAURENT - minimum 3 items and they choose the department I need to buy the other 2 items from.
THIS IS FORCED SELLING AND IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO SELL UNWANTED GOOD TO PEOPLE.
consumer rights and protection law -
“ the right to safety, the right to be informed, the right to choose, and the right to be heard”
aggressive selling -
being pressured into buying something you don’t want.
Tying -
selling one product and forcing addition sales,
tying is illegal.
ALL CUSTOMERS NEED TO BE TREATED FAIRLY AND EQUALLY.
