Let Yellowstone Buffalo Roam Our National Forests!

Let Yellowstone Buffalo Roam Our National Forests!
The Issue
Lend your voice to changing the Custer Gallatin National Forest land management plan. Deadline no later than Tuesday, September 8.
The Custer Gallatin National Forest, adjacent to Yellowstone, recently issued decisions denying American bison habitat protections they badly need. It's important that the Yellowstone Bison have these protections as they roam National Forests adjacent to Yellowstone National Park.
Forest Supervisor Mary C. Erickson must include standards conserving American bison habitat in the Custer Gallatin National Forest land management plan.
American bison also need to be listed as a species of conservation concern in the Forest Service’s Northern Region, a designation denied to them by Regional Forester Leanne M. Marten.
We strongly encourage you to send a personal message, no later than Tuesday, September 8, to the people responsible for providing habitat for migratory American bison on our National Forests.
You can find more information on the importance of National Forest habitat for American bison on the Buffalo Field Campaign web page: https://www.buffalofieldcampaign.org/species-of-conservation-concern
Forest Supervisor Mary C. Erickson is responsible for approving the final record of decision for the Custer Gallatin National Forest’s land management plan.
Regional Forester Leanne M. Marten is responsible for identifying species of conservation concern in the Northern Region. She is also responsible for reviewing
Supervisor Erickson’s final decision for the Custer Gallatin National Forest’s revised land management plan.
The Chief of the Forest Service, Vicki Christiansen, is responsible for reviewing Regional Forester Marten’s decision listing species of conservation concern.
Thanks for helping allow the Yellowstone Bison to roam wild and free!
