Curtin University Student Physical Activity Initiative started this petition to Curtin University

We are a group of Health Promotion students at Curtin University. A recent survey data found that many Curtin students are not meeting physical activity and sedentary behaviour guidelines. The survey also revealed that awareness for programs, events, and equipment available on the Curtin campus is low among students. Our project aims to implement health promotion across multiple settings at Curtin University, to increase the physical activity levels of Curtin University students.

Through our ongoing research, consultation with key stakeholders, and our own experiences as Curtin students, we have discovered that lectures are no longer being delivered on campus.

We believe that allowing students to have the opportunity to learn face-to-face is in Curtin University's best interest. Not only will it bring more students back to campus, but it will also increase the overall health and wellbeing of students. If more students are on campus for longer, there will be more exposure to events, increased usage of facilities, and an overall increase in student participation. There would be an overall boost in morale, as students feel like they are a part of a team.

Curtin University students deserve to have the opportunity to learn in class on campus. This petition is a tool for students and staff to make a stand for the way learning is being delivered. It is a call to action for faculties to start listening to students and stop tasking short cuts, and to bring back lectures face-to-face.
