On Aug 30th,  11 year old Julie Randel was struck by a car walking home from Currituck middle school with her brother.  They have to cross a 5 lane highway to get to their house. Many students live close to schools in Currituck, some are picked up and dropped off, ride buses, ride bikes or walk. With our community growing, we have more school aged students than ever, we are petitioning Currituck County to provide crosswalks for every school in our area. This will help ensure every child can get to and from school safely. Until crosswalks can be established, crossing guards should be placed at schools that have walkers, bike riders etc. Please sign this petition to help us keep our children safe!!
