My group members and I decided to start this petition to bring forward this ongoing issue with the factories surrounding our school. We chose this topic for our Senior Action Project because it is something that directly affects us. We are students who currently attend Animo Jackie Robinson Charter HS, we share our school campus with William Jefferson Middle School. We are concerned about the many dangerous factories that are in close proximity to our school. Many of them are not regulated and this affects the health of the students on our school campus. Many of us have to walk around them on our way to the school. When we arrive on school campus we often have to endure the rancid smell of these factories, especially during the warmer days. Many of us are a members of this community and we want to make a change. These factories surround our home and they may be correlated to many of the health issues in our community.  We want the council member in charge of our district, Curren D. Price to regulate the factories surrounding our community. We want and deserve to be a part of a safer community.
