I am a young Wandsworth resident and I have seen my peers purchasing vapes from local sellers. Rumours of vaping within my school have also reached me. This is becoming increasingly alarming. Underage vaping is a serious health concern. According to a study published in the British Medical Journal, young people who vape are significantly more likely to start smoking traditional cigarettes within a year. The prevalence of vaping among young people in the UK has more than doubled in recent years (Public Health England). This is a personal and community issue that needs to be urgently addressed. We need stricter regulations to stop local sellers from selling vape products to underage consumers in Wandsworth. It is time to take a stand against underage vaping and protect the health and futures of Wandsworth's young residents.
