Dear CSUN Chairman and Administrators of the Art Department,

As students from the Art Department, we are aware that there are some budget cuts limited to how many live models there can be for figure drawing. It is a tremendous concern for us because without a live model in front of us there is no way we are able to properly learn what we are paying our tuition for. Drawing models from pictures is simply not the same because it is very limited to the naked eye and there is only so much we can see from a flat image as opposed to a real life figure that we can draw right in front of us. Seeing how so many of us are enrolled in person on campus, why must we be limited to learning as if we are back on zoom again? 

Many of us are passionate in our crafts for art with majors in Illustration, Animation, Graphic Design, Photography, Digital, Sculpture, Painting, Drawing, and Art Education. Having a real human figure in front of us is crucial to improving and honing our craft and we want to make CSUN proud. With your help and consideration to our concerns, I believe we can make that happen, and have more future prospect students proud to be in our department. Thank you for your time and consideration.
