Criminal Trial for the Unlawful Killing of Nepali Youths by the Government.

The Issue

On 8 September 2025, Nepal witnessed one of the darkest days in its democratic history. During a peaceful protest led by Gen-Z and young Nepali citizens, more than 19 innocent lives were unlawfully taken by state authorities. These were unarmed, courageous youth raising their voices for justice, democracy, and the future of Nepal. Instead of dialogue, they were met with violence.

We, the undersigned, demand immediate accountability and criminal justice for all individuals in positions of power who enabled, ordered, or failed to prevent these killings, including:

Prime Minister (Khadga Prasad Oli)
Home Minister (Ramesh Lekhak)
Kathmandu Chief District Officer (Chhabi Rijal)
Inspector General of Police (Chandra Kuber Khapung Limbu)
And all police personnel directly involved in the unlawful use of lethal force.

Our Demands:

  • Independent Investigation – A full, transparent, and international-standard investigation into the killings of peaceful protesters.
  • Criminal Prosecution – Prosecution of all individuals—regardless of political office or rank—responsible for authorizing or carrying out the killings.
  • Resignation & Suspension – Immediate resignation or suspension of officials implicated, pending investigation outcomes.
  • Justice for Families – Recognition, compensation, and public apologies to the families of the victims.
  • Systemic Reform – Legal and institutional reforms to ensure Nepal’s citizens are never again subjected to state-sponsored violence for exercising their democratic rights.

Why This Matters:

A democracy that silences its youth with bullets instead of listening to their voices is no democracy at all. The world must stand in solidarity with the people of Nepal to ensure accountability and to safeguard human rights.

If we remain silent, these young lives will have been lost in vain. Their voices, their courage, and their demand for a better Nepal must be honored with justice.

👉 Sign this petition today to call on the Government of Nepal, the United Nations, human rights organizations, and the international community to demand accountability and justice for the victims of the September 8 massacre.

Justice delayed is justice denied. Nepal’s youth deserve better!
