To address these systemic issues, it is imperative that we establish a new level of governance that surpasses the current oversight functions provided by Ofcom and Pact. A dedicated, independent body should be formed to scrutinize, evaluate, and ensure that every decision made by commissioning personnel is in the best interest of the public. Such a body would not only uphold higher standards but also provide the transparency and accountability necessary for the BBC to maintain its integrity as a public service broadcaster.
