Create league standards for equitable implementation of new safety technologies.

Create league standards for equitable implementation of new safety technologies.
The Issue
Having dedicated three years to the development of a scientifically accurate concussion-detection device, I have witnessed firsthand the hesitation among coaches to adopt this life-saving technology. Even when offered at no charge, the device was often declined. The primary reason for this reluctance was that without mandatory league-wide adoption, prioritizing player safety inadvertently became a competitive disadvantage. As someone passionate about both sports and athlete safety, this situation is deeply frustrating. **Good societies make doing good make sense.**
This is why I am petitioning the Pop Warner Bay Area Youth Football & Cheer League to establish a policy that mandates the adoption of any scientifically validated concussion-safety technologies or protocols league-wide. Such a regulation would eliminate the competitive disadvantages faced by teams who wish to prioritize player safety and encourage all teams to invest in and implement the best available technologies to protect their athletes.
Concussions are a significant issue in youth sports. Concussions can have lasting impacts on a child's developing brain. Implementing consistent safety measures across all teams in our league can drastically reduce these risks.
Imagine a league where every player's health is prioritized, where parents can send their children to practice knowing that their safety is being actively and equally protected. Coaches and teams would no longer have to choose between competitiveness and safety—both would be equally assured.
By taking this proactive step, the Pop Warner Bay Area Youth Football & Cheer League would showcase leadership and commitment to its players' health, setting a national example for youth sports organizations across the country.
I urge you to sign this petition to protect our young athletes and ensure that our sports community acts responsibly. Your signature can help drive this essential change and ensure that every child has the opportunity to play safely. **Sign the petition today and let’s make our league a role model for others to follow.**
