I'm not going to sugarcoat this- the environment is being monstrously impacted by humans and their lack of flexibility to ban plastic and products that are hurtful for the environment. If things change, then there will be actual metric tons less of waste in the ocean and dumps in California. Plastic and styrofoam, commonly used products in the Californian cafeteria, take decades to decompose, and then when they do decompose, they hurt the environment. If things do not change, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050. If we don't act now, our planet will be more plastic than planet. If you sign this petition you are asking the California Board of Education to replace the harmful substances with reusable utensils and plates and waste organizing bins.
