Our neighborhood children currently wait for the school bus at two rural intersection stops. Neither location has a sidewalk, covered waiting area, or designated space for children to gather away from the roadway.

My property is located between these two existing stops, and several children in our area already ride the same bus. I have enough space along my property to offer an alternative: a centralized, covered neighborhood bus stop where children could wait farther from the road and protected from rain, wind, cold, and summer heat.

I am willing to provide the space for a covered shelter, a small off-road parking area for parents, solar lighting, and a security camera. If the Springdale Public Schools Transportation Department determines that a bus pull-off or other safety improvements are appropriate, I am also willing to work with them on the layout.

This petition is not asking the school district to approve a specific design or route change without evaluation. We are asking Springdale Public Schools Transportation to evaluate this property as a possible centralized neighborhood bus stop and work with our community to determine whether it could provide a safer and more comfortable waiting location for our children.
