Dear Administration of Rowan College at Burlington County,

We, the undersigned students of Rowan College at Burlington County and residents of the Burlington County area, respectfully request that designated prayer room is used as such, instead of a conference room in the Mt. Laurel campus. This room need to remain a prayer room for all students wishing to engage in religious practices.

As a diverse community of individuals, it is important that we support and accommodate the spiritual needs of all students. Many students turn to their religion as a source of comfort and guidance, and for some, prayer is an integral part of their daily routine. However, finding a quiet, private space to pray on campus can be a challenge, especially when there are no areas reserved for that specific purpose. A dedicated prayer room would provide a solution to this problem, and would serve as a welcoming and inclusive space for students of all faiths to engage in their personal religious practices. This is especially important during times of stress and uncertainty, when the support and comfort of one's religion can be especially valuable. By permanently converting the conference room into a prayer room, the college would demonstrate its commitment to the spiritual well-being of its students and its commitment to diversity and inclusivity.We understand that conference rooms may be in high demand on campus, and that finding a suitable space for a prayer room may not be easy. However, we believe that the benefits of having such a space far outweigh any potential inconveniences. A prayer room would provide a much-needed resource for students of all faiths, and would serve as a symbol of the inclusivity and diversity of our campus community while fostering a sense of belonging and support amongst all RCBC students.

We respectfully request that the college prioritize the spiritual needs of its students and consider this request. We believe that the creation of a prayer room would be a positive and meaningful step towards supporting the diverse needs of our campus community.
