Create a National Water Stewardship Fund Through Shared Responsibility
The Issue
While everyone was arguing about AI, we were over here trying to figure out how to send these data centers a water bill.
Not just any bill—a stewardship bill.
This conversation was sparked by creator @kaosthebaker, whose video raised an important question about water, glaciers, and the growing demands on our freshwater resources. It inspired a bigger question:
What if major water users also helped restore the watersheds they depend on?
Water is one of our most important shared resources. Communities, ecosystems, agriculture, businesses, and data centers all rely on healthy rivers, aquifers, wetlands, and watersheds.
We believe stewardship means that those who benefit from shared resources should also help protect and restore them. This isn’t about punishment—it’s about reciprocity and investing in the long-term health of the systems that sustain us.
We encourage policymakers to explore the creation of a National Water Stewardship Fund that could support:
- Watershed restoration
- Freshwater conservation
- Water infrastructure
- Drought resilience
- Community-led restoration projects
This petition began with one creator’s spark and grew through collaboration. Now we’re inviting the community to help shape the conversation.
If you believe stewardship should be part of how we care for our shared water resources, please add your name and help move the conversation forward.
This petition is dedicated to Mother Earth—the living home we all share and the source we all have a responsibility to steward together.
